The mission of the Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center is to optimize the quality of life of children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis by providing exemplary patient and family centered care, performing research to develop new therapies and training the next generation of caregivers.
Our vision is to substantially improve the health and quality of life of our patients and have a significant Impact on the field of Cystic Fibrosis by introducing new therapies and developing national leaders through our training programs.
The Johns Hopkins CF Center has been providing expert multi-disciplinary care to children and adults for over half a century. Approximately 600 CF patients are seen regularly at John Hopkins. The success of our approach to CF care is evidenced by the fact that we now care for more adults than children.
We strive to provide the best possible care in order to slow the progression of lung disease. Our approach to CF care is aimed at preventing problems and maximizing nutrition and lung health. We are proud of our clinical outcomes that you can view at CF Foundation website. We are actively involved in Quality Improvement and constantly re-examine our practices to identify areas that can be improved. Our research program extends from the laboratory bench to the bedside to develop new therapies to improve the lives of CF patients.
