The mission of the Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center is to improve the quality of life of cystic fibrosis patients by providing exemplary patient care, performing research to develop new therapies and training the next generation of caregivers.

The Johns Hopkins CF Center has been providing expert multi-disciplinary care to children and adults for over half a century. Approximately 400 CF patients are seen regularly at John Hopkins. Because advances in CF care have improved survival significantly, one-third of these patients are adults.

We strive to provide the best possible care in order to slow the progression of lung disease. The lung function of young children at the Johns Hopkins CF Center is excellent. Our goal is to maintain this outstanding lung function throughout life.

Our approach to CF care is aimed at preventing problems and maximizing nutrition and lung health. We are actively involved in Quality Improvement and constantly re-examine our practices to identify areas that can be improved. Also, research at the Johns Hopkins CF Center is aimed at developing new therapies to improve the lives of CF patients.
