Study on Pulmonary Exacerbations Is Now Enrolling

The Pilot Observational Study to Determine Feasibility of a Standardized Treatment of Pulmonary Exacerbations in Patients with Cystic Fibrosis (STOP) is enrolling patients 18 and older who have CF and require hospitalization for intravenous antibiotics to treat a pulmonary exacerbation at Johns Hopkins Hospital is now enrolling patients. Vertex Pharmaceuticals Releases Results of Studies of Lumacaftor (VX-809) and Ivacaftor

Vertex Pharmaceutials announces exciting news on the results of two phase 3 studies of lumacaftor (VX-809) in combination with ivacaftor in people with cystic fibrosis who have 2 copies of the F508del mutation. People treated with the two drugs had a statistically significant  improvement in FEV1 compared to those receiving placebo. Read more.
